GEOD builds a geological cross-section from information entered by the user in a script written in a language specific to GEOD. This language is based on a relatively small set of commands, which can be grouped into several categories.
These commands are used to insert the main geometric elements required to construct a geological cross-section.
These commands automatically generate new geometries from previously defined curves or structures.
These commands are used to restrict drawing operations to a given region of the cross-section, or to fill geological units with patterns.
These commands define the general scale and layout of the drawing area and of the printed output.
The following commands are used to define variables, add legends, and enrich the graphical content of the cross-section.
The command system of GEOD is intentionally compact, but many commands include numerous subcommands and options. In practice, the richest and most flexible commands are usually pattern and fill, because they control the graphical rendering of geological units.
